What To Expect From This Site

What To Expect From Us:

First and foremost, we want everyone to know that this blog was created for the sole purpose of us sharing our personal opinions, advice, and experiences along our money saving journey! We will NOT post matchups with store ads and coupons (there are several awesome sites that already do this and we will post their links on our page). We do NOT do "big hauls" on our shopping trips. If we come across a good deal we may stock up on several items, however all of our shopping trips are usually small and simple (but cheap or FREE!) We only buy a sufficient amount of things we need (typically about 6 months worth - it will always go on sale again!) or we buy things to donate for worthy causes. We are NOT shelf clearers! We do not see the need in buying 500 cans of tuna or 300 packages of noodles just because we can! Our couponing/saving style is simple yet effective. And we hope you can learn something from us on this new money saving adventure!

CVS

~For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.~ -1Timothy 6:7

CVS is another one of our favorite stores to shop at! In our experience, we find that CVS seems to be more stocked than other drug stores and has friendly cashiers! Here are a few tips to shopping at CVS:
  • First and foremost, sign up for the CVS Extra Care card! This is CRUCIAL to receiving important discounts/ECB's (Extra Care Bucks)
  • Always scan your card before you start your transaction!
  • Extra Care Bucks are printed at the bottom of your receipt. Certain items will generate a certain amount of ECB's. And most items have a limit. CVS can track your purchases through your card unlike Walgreens.
  • ECB's are in sense, "money"! And you can use coupons and ECB's on transactions.
  • Unlike Walgreens, you MAY "roll" your ECB's. This means you may purchase one item that triggers the ECB's and use those ECB's to pay for another same item (in a separate transaction) - if you haven't reached your limit for that item.
  • The Magic Coupon Machine!! It is located at the front of our CVS and is a red machine that you scan your CVS card in and it will generate various store coupons. These MAY be stacked with your manufacturer coupons!! Be sure to keep scanning your card until the machine reads "No more coupons available today." You can usually get 2-3 coupons / day from the machine. Note that most coupons are the same from day to day. Some coupons are for specific items, and some are for a certain $ amount off a certain $ amount puchase (ex: $3 off $10 first aid purchase) Note that these coupons apply to pre-coupon totals!
  • CLEARANCE - CVS can have some awesome clearance sections so be on the lookout for these sections throughout your CVS! (And remember, for the best savings, combine your coupons with your clearance items if at all possible!)
  • Handing over your coupons - give your coupons to the cashier in this order: $ off of $ purchase (from coupon machine), CVS store or manufacturer coupons, then ECB's to maximize your saving
CVS does not have a copy of their policy posted online. So we suggest you email and ask for a copy specific to your region. As always, we strongly suggest you print a copy of it and carry it with you when shopping in case there are any discretion's at checkout!
